HIGHLIGHTS
- Fourth Ward Entertainment District – In celebration of the legacy, tradition, and culture of the Historical Fourth Ward, City Staff provided an update on community collaborations that celebrate the district’s rich history, including unveiling branding and thanking Octavia Rainey for her perseverance in getting recognition for the Fourth Ward.
- Community Engagement for Youth – There will be an event on October 12 at 5pm at the Five Points Center for Active Adults to discuss a potential teen curfew. There will NOT be a vote on September 15. Councilor Forte emphasized the need to reach out to kids who ordinarily don’t engage with programs and other councilors agreed.
- Raleigh Water will receive a $38.7M Federal Grant. Will propose spending on water infrastructure.

- Councilor Patton will hold office hours on 9/16 from 6-8pm at Bedford Food & Beverage
- Councilor Silver raised the issue of branches overhanging sidewalks from private property.
- Councilor Jones will hold her monthly meeting on 9/9 at 6pm at Laurel Hills in conjunction with a neighborhood rezoning meeting. Her book club will meet on 9/12 from 9:30-11:30am at the Continental.
CONSENT AGENDA
- Unanimously approved after discussing transportation funding for Old Wake Forest Road and impact of transferring $5M to Lake Wheeler Road from Old Wake Forest Road. Councilors Patton and Silver asked for staff commitment to fully fund completion of Old Wake Forest Road project.
