Livable Raleigh was started in the fall of 2019. We’re a group of Raleigh residents who are very active in politics; especially local politics. You’ve heard the phrase, “think global, act local.” That’s a good description of how we think and take action. We believe in fact-based decision-making combined with active participation in local issues that affect how Raleigh citizens live, work and play.
Some of us have been in Raleigh most of our lives, others were born here (an increasingly rare breed known as “natives”), and a few of us are relatively recent arrivals. We live in neighborhoods all across Raleigh: from inside-the-beltline to outside-the-beltline, in older homes and newer homes, and all types of housing. What we all have in common is a love of Raleigh and a passion for civic engagement. A number of us have been elected to office in Raleigh and Wake County; all of us are very active in politics, and do a lot of volunteer work to make Raleigh one of the best places to live.
If you love Raleigh like we do, please get involved with us! After you’ve read “Our Platform” and some of our blog posts, please send us an email (LivableRaleigh@gmail.com) with any questions you may have about Livable Raleigh and how you can get more involved in your city. In fact, our “Resources” page has quite a few links that will point you in many directions for information and how to take action.
