The latest finance reports filed at the end of October provide us with some shocking numbers to add to our previous reporting.

If you haven’t voted yet, please make sure you do on Tuesday. You may want to consider this new information when making your choices for Raleigh City Council.

In September we reported the campaign finance data for Raleigh City Council candidates through June 30, 2026. You can see that reporting in the chart at the bottom of the page.

Now we can report additional money coming in for Clark Rinehart.

Clark Rinehart

candidate for Raleigh At-Large

$46,788

more from the development community

$37,900 in Independent Expenditures made on his behalf by Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a PAC funded by the NC & National Realtors Associations

$2,500 in a direct contribution from the NC Home Builders PAC

$2,200 in a direct contribution from the NC Realtors PAC

$4,188 in additional direct contributions from the development industry

A large majority of what the City Councilors are responsible for are decisions related to development. The development industry is supporting Clark Rinehart for a reason. It’s up to you to decide how you want to factor this information into your voting decision.

Independent expenditures refer to money spent for direct mail and/or advertising by an independent advocacy group on behalf of a candidate for office. In these cases it is money spent by Realtor and Home Builder’s Associations Political Action Committees (PACs) to support Clark Rinehart.
