NEW DATE, TIME & LOCATION
FIRST NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPER MEETING
Wednesday, April 23, 6pm
1101 Gorman St, Raleigh 27606
Plan to attend, ask questions and voice your concerns
More details here: Raleigh Neighbors United
The neighbors support the current zoning which allows for 12 stories.
12 stories IS DENSITY
12 stories provides needed housing
Urge City Council to Stick to the Plan
This property’s zoning was TRIPLED from 4 to 12 stories in 2015 with NO PUBLIC INPUT
This rezoning would set a dangerous precedent that would affect ALL neighborhoods. The developer wants to build 30 stories in a Transition Area, 240 feet from homes in a historic neighborhood. Anything greater than 12 stories would violate height guidance, 4 plans, 47 policies, and 2 tables.
There is not one single city policy or plan that supports more than 12 stories at this location.
Raleigh Neighbors United (RNU) provides links to analysis of these violations.
Raleigh does not have a lack of entitlement to build housing. Since December 2019 the City Council has approved rezoning requests for more than 101,000 housing units.

If a 30 story tower is approved at this location in a designated Downtown Transition Area, then ALL the other neighborhoods noted on this map and currently protected by Downtown Transition Areas (shown in blue) are at risk. This is a dangerous precedent to set. The exception would become the rule.
The neighbors support the current zoning which allows for 12 stories.
12 stories IS DENSITY
12 stories provides needed housing
It is time for Raleigh neighborhoods and citizens to come together with a powerful voice to remind decision-makers about their accountability to provide fair, plan-compliant, and equitable development in and around neighborhoods, families and communities.
FOLLOW THE PLAN
