Wake Bus Rapid Transit Northern Corridor Major Investment Study

Het Patel, Transportation, presented. In November 2016, Wake County voters approved a transit-dedicated half-cent sales tax investment to expand and better connect the public transit network throughout Wake County.
The City says that the Wake County Transit Plan will: connect the region; connect all Wake County communities; provide frequent, reliable urban mobility; and enhance access to transit. Transit improvements identified in the plan include the implementation of four Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors.

On September 4, 2018, City Council authorized the mayor to accept the City’s project sponsor designation for the Wake Transit Plan’s BRT (Wake BRT) projects. The Wake BRT: Northern Corridor project was one of the four corridors identified.
