    • Agreed to provide Citizen Advisory Councils with free, monthly access to City facilities within the boundary of each Citizen Advisory Council;

WORK SESSION

  • Mayor Pro Tem Forte absent.
  • At the next Council meeting, Council will direct staff to eliminate assessments (~2% of actual project costs) on all 17 pending street improvement projects that were left over when the program was suspended in 2022 due to lack of funds and authorize a refund of the advance payments.
  • Staff recommended to not use assessments to fund future street improvement projects and to eliminate the petition process.
  • Staff will propose additional budget allocation to fund sidewalks as a priority.

  • Unanimously approved Council contingency funds of $3000 to Toward Zero Waste (Councilor Jones) and $2000 to Toward Zero Waste (Councilor Patton). Rescinded prior funding to North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre as it is a recipient of other City grants and therefore ineligible for additional funding.
  • Advisory Board and Commission Follow-up
    • Adopted a resolution authorizing the dissolution of the Historic Cemeteries Advisory Board and consolidation with the Historical Resources and Museum Advisory Board
    • Adopted an ordinance renaming the Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities as the Raleigh Commission for Persons with Disabilities
    • Adopted an ordinance to rename the Fair Housing Hearing Board as the Fair Housing Advisory Board
    • Authorized a forum for comment to be received regarding proposed changes to the structure and composition of various board and commissions

  • Staff presented an overview of strategic planning efforts, vendor engagement, and the City’s path forward to implement a modern, integrated ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software solution that enhances operational efficiency and supports future growth.
  • Funded security contracts for Downtown Parking Safety, Moore Square Park Security, and Gipson Play Plaza Security after discussion about security at all Raleigh Parks.
