  • Lisa Hughet spoke against the parks bond because of current economic conditions and because of misplaced priorities.
  • Delmonte Crawford spoke regarding the mass shooting and asking Mayor Baldwin to resign. Also asked for a moment of silence for the mass shooting victims.
  • Andrea Fennell spoke about Hedingham shooting. She spoke against David Knight for not caring about Hedingham. Called out Mayor Baldwin for not paying attention to the speakers. Spoke about inappropriate developer influence. Asked people to vote against the Parks bond.
  • Octavia Rainey spoke on gun violence trends and the difference in how the City treats victims of gun violence – website and counseling offered to Hedginham community only.
  • Angel Turner spoke about the Hedingham shooting and Council’s inadequate response.

  • Josh Bradley asked council members to recuse themselves from any rezonings that are requested by their campaign donors. He also advocated public funding for municipal elections. He pointed out that the issue with missing middle is not about density per se, but it is about engagement and affordability.

  • Byron Laws spoke about Council’s cutting speaking time during public comments, about disbanding of CACs, and about Human Relations Chair Mary Thompson not being reappointed. He spoke about Council’s unfair redistricting
  • Terry Henderson spoke about lessons learned from missing middle, including the need to improve citizen engagement, to evaluate unintended consequences, to include affordable housing, to launch as a pilot, to include safeguards, to include a cost-benefit analysis, among others.
  • Donna Bailey shared statistics about affordable housing and criticized missing middle that doesn’t incentivize affordable housing. Also criticized developer support for council member campaigns.
