HIGHLIGHTS
- Unanimously approved requests from Mayor Cowell ($1000 for Artsplosure and $1000 for Ship Outreach and Community Center), Councilor Branch ($7500 for Friends of the City of Raleigh Museum), Councilor Patton ($6372 for The Women’s Center of Wake County), and Mayor Pro Tem Forte ($5628 for Saving Adolescent Girls Everywhere and $2500 each for The Women’s Center of Wake County, StepUp Ministry, and LGBTQ Center of Raleigh).
- Council adopted a resolution in support of the tolling proposal for Capital Boulevard North/US 1 North and identified scenario 2 (all toll lanes as part of the Triangle Expressway System) as a preferred tolling scenario. It passed 7 to 1 with Councilor Patton voting no. Councilor Patton said she was opposed to the tolling based on feedback from her constituents but suggested different toll rates based on time of day if it was to move forward. Several councilors emphasized this is a NCDOT effort and was not initiated by the City of Raleigh.
- Unanimously authorized an increase of maximum AMI limit to 80% for the Cottages of Idlewild in the event Self-Help Credit Union must foreclose on the construction loan, in accordance with request received from the Self-Help Credit Union and the developer.
- 2024 Community Survey results show that residents have a very positive perception of the City of Raleigh (84% rated the overall quality of life in Raleigh as excellent or good), satisfaction with City services is much higher in Raleigh than other large communities (Raleigh rates higher than other large U.S. communities in 25 of 28 Areas), and top overall priorities are Affordable Housing, Pace of Growth, and Transportation.
- Text Change to Zoning Conditions TCZ-41-25: 3616 Louisbury Road, on the south side of Louisbury Road (District B) – Unanimously approved
- Rezoning Z-46-24: 4349 & 4353 Pearl Road; approximately 0.5 miles from the intersection of Pearl and Rock Quarry Roads (District C) – Unanimously approved
- Unanimously approved the schematic design for River Cane Wetland Park as recommended by the Parks, Recreation, and Greenway Advisory Board.
- Unanimously approved the schematic design for Sertoma Arts Center as recommended by the Parks, Recreation, and Greenway Advisory Board.

- Councilor Harrison will not have a DDNA meeting in May, but will meet on 6/7 at 9:30am at Pullen Community Center with a focus on the next City budget.
