- Unanimously approved budget notes to fund the costs associated with installation of pedestrian improvements at NCDOT High Crash Intersections and at at East Whitaker Mill Road and Atlantic Avenue
- Councilor Patton hosting office hours on 3/13, location TBD, from 6-8pm. Also asked if Growth & Natural Resources Committee could discuss forestation requirements per UDO. Committee will meet 3/25 at 4pm.
- Councilor Jones announced District E meeting on 3/12 from 6-8pm at La Cucina and District E Book Club on 3/15 from 9:30-11:30am at Oberlin Regional Library.
- Councilor Branch asked staff to come up with a process for renaming streets in honor of someone without actually officially changing the street name, and asked staff to present an updated proposal for Brookside Drive at 3/18 Council meeting. He will be one of the speakers at a meeting on 3/10 at 6:30pm at 1214 East Lenoir Street.
- Councilor Harrison spoke about the economic and individual impact of recent national actions that are hindering scientific progress. She noted that there is a March for Science this Friday at noon at Halifax Mall.
