  • Councilor Jones announced a community conversation on 12/13 from 7-9pm at Stage Door Dance in Brier Creek. Working on draft resolution re LGBTQ+ community. Requested $11,300 from Council Contingency funds for pilot mental health initiative.
  • Councilor Melton brought up the City’s Equality Index Score and reinforced the need to address the resolution on LGBTQ+ issues.

  • replaced decibel limits with a “reasonable person” standard, prohibited unreasonable noise subject to specified exceptions, and prohibited specific noises, as in the current noise ordinances.
  • repealed existing amplified entertainment permit ordinances in their entirety, including repeal of the hospitality district entertainment permit provisions, and
  • adopted a new ordinance to ensure that bars, taverns, nightclubs, and similar businesses complied with building code, fire code, and security requirements.
