HIGHLIGHTS
- Z-12-25 W Peace Street and N West Street – approved applicant’s request to make changes before hearing is set but still desire 10/7 hearing
- Fayetteville Street Streetscape Plan sent to Economic Development and Innovation Committee for further discussion.
- ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION COMMITTEE – will meet 9/23 at 1:30pm to discuss Fayetteville Street Streetscape Plan
- SAFE, VIBRANT AND HEALTHY COMMUNITY COMMITTEE — recommends authorizing staff to draft a text change for referral to the Planning Commission to allow digital billboards as proposed by external industry representatives. Councilors Harrison and Patton expressed concerns especially as this was denied previously. Mayor Pro Tem Forte advocated for more public engagement on the topic, as did Councilors Silver and Lambert-Melton. Councilor Jones is arranging for industry reps to discuss at CAC meetings. Councilor Harrison asked that this be discussed in closed session to get attorney input. Committee will meet 9/23 to discuss noise issues and commercial trash pickup.
