  • At its January 2, 2024 meeting, City Council allocated $100,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to support a Sociable City Assessment. The City contracted with the Responsible Hospitality Institute (RHI) to conduct the study, which focused on analyzing the strengths, challenges, and opportunities within the social economy of the Fayetteville Street and Glenwood South districts. A consultant from RHI presented key findings from the Sociable City Assessment.
  • Save, Vibrant, & Healthy Communities Committee will meet on May 27 to discuss issues like this further
  • The consultant seemed to be biased toward businesses rather than residents.

  • At the same January 2024 meeting, Council also allocated $200,000 for a Traffic and Safety Study in Glenwood South. During the work session Transportation staff provided updates from a recent community survey and outlined next steps in that study.
