Raleigh Arts is creating an Emerging Public Artist Registry and wants your feedback! This fall, the public arts team will launch a new way for local artists to be considered for public art projects under $30,000. Our Emerging Public Artist Registry will be open to NC-based artists working as muralists, mosaicists, sculptors, photographers, illustrators, and digital artists/designers. We’re working to develop an opportunity tailored to everyone from established studio artists looking for ways to break into public art to working public artists seeking projects that can help them reach the next level. ONE Wake Candidates and Elected Officials Assembly being held on September 19, 2026 from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC 27613. More than 1,200 ONE Wake leaders from across Wake County will be in attendance. During the assembly, they will publicly present their affordable housing plan and share their vision for ensuring that working families, teachers, first responders, seniors, and other residents can continue to afford to live in the communities they serve. The goal is to explore practical ways that ONE Wake and the elected officials of Wake county can work together to expand affordable housing and strengthen Wake county.

We'll spend the first part of the workshop in the classroom and the second half in the creek practicing sample collection. This workshop is required for new stream monitoring volunteers but is open to anyone interested in learning more about our streams.
