ITEMS TO BE DISCUSSED B.1 Economic Development Initiatives Evan Raleigh, City Manager’s Office Kyle Touchstone, Raleigh Economic Development As Council will recall, the City contracts with the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce for economic development services and recruitment strategy. Raleigh Economic Development (RED), a program of the Greater Raleigh Chamber in partnership with the City of Raleigh and Wake County Economic Development, supports job creation and capital investment in Raleigh. RED is the primary economic development program for the city, leading business recruitment, retention, and expansion efforts and brand awareness activities while supporting talent and equitable economic development efforts. During the work session staff will provide an overview of initiatives and accomplishments.  Included with the agenda materials is the most recent quarterly report for the current fiscal year. C.     Wednesday June 24th at 7pm It’s time to meet and talk about what’s going on in West Raleigh! Erika Brandt, Assistant Director of Housing will provide an overview of the City of Raleigh's affordable housing programs and the work of the Housing and Community Development Department. Then, Lauren North will present on the Hillsborough-Western rezoning Z-17-26.  The City has conducted preliminary test fits which indicate 89-124 units are feasible on the 3.5 acre site. We will also look at the proposed new boundary map that we will vote on at our July Meeting as well as open the floor for community updates.
