  • ONE Wake Candidates and Elected Officials Assembly on Affordable Housing

    ONE Wake Candidates and Elected Officials Assembly being held on September 19, 2026 from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at  Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC 27613. More than 1,200 ONE Wake leaders from across Wake County will be in attendance. During the assembly, they will publicly present their affordable housing plan and share their vision for ensuring that working families, teachers, first responders, seniors, and other residents can continue to afford to live in the communities they serve. The goal is to explore practical ways that ONE Wake and the elected officials of Wake county can work together to expand affordable housing and strengthen Wake county.

  • Stream Monitoring Workshop

    Walnut Creek Wetland Center 950 Peterson St, Raleigh, NC

    Learn How to Take Water Samples! Interested in learning more about Raleigh stream ecosystems? We're hosting a volunteer stream monitoring workshop! We'll spend the first part of the workshop in the classroom and the second half in the creek practicing sample collection. This workshop is required for new stream monitoring volunteers but is open to anyone interested in learning more about our streams. When: Saturday, September 19 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Where: Walnut Creek Wetland Park (Neuse River Room, 950 Peterson Street) Details: Individual registration is required. This event is capped at 15 participants. Please come dressed in long pants, close-toed shoes, and ready to hop in the creek.

    The Commission typically meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 9 a.m. The meetings are held at the Raleigh Municipal Building (RMB), located at 222 West Hargett Street.     The City of Raleigh's Solid Waste Services team will be hosting popups to hand out FREE biodegradable yard waste bags this fall. Swing by Millbrook Exchange Park to pick up your five (5) FREE biodegradable paper yard waste bags! Solid Waste Services staff will be on hand to answer all your questions about the city's new service for residents, Enhanced Weekly Yard Waste Pickup.

  • Planning Commission Committee of the Whole

    Raleigh Municipal Building 222 W. Hargett St., Raleigh, NC, United States

    The Committee of the Whole is an informal special meeting of the full Planning Commission, held to facilitate further discussions on specific referral items. The Planning Commission bylaws state that rezoning requests that are deemed inconsistent with the Comprehensive Plan and future land use map are automatically referred to the Committee of the Whole. Additionally, requests for Planned Development or Campus District are also automatically referred to this Committee. The committee typically meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. The meetings are held at the Raleigh Municipal Building (RMB), located at 222 West Hargett Street, in the Council Chamber or in conference room 305.     RHDC Certificate of Appropriateness Committee public meetings are held in the Raleigh Municipal Building, City Council Chamber. A broadcast is available via the following methods: the city’s website, the city’s YouTube Channel, or Channel RTN-11.
