We have invited Tiesha Hinton, Community Engagement Manager to join our meeting and discuss the new Office of Community Engagement. The Office of Community Engagement works to advance the City’s goal of improving and reimagining community engagement efforts. The office helps encourage active participation in decision-making dialogue and public policy. Tiesha will be providing an update on the new office answering your questions about the future of community engagement in Raleigh. Appeal of the Denial of the RDU Quarry Mining Permit

Appeal of the Denial of the RDU Quarry Mining Permit February 13-16 and February 20-24: 9am Contested Trial DEQ denied Wake Stone's Mining Permit Application to put a rock mine on the Odd Fellows Tract in February 2022. Wake Stone appealed. The Umstead Coalition's request to be an Intervening party was denied (for now) and we are submitting an Amicus Brief. The Attorney General's office (AG) is defending the Mining Permit Denial. Discovery, motions to dismiss, pre-trial hearings, similar have been completed and the judge has ordered a two-week contested trial. Let us know if you plan to attend. The trial is open to the public. Oak City Biz Labs Information Session for Small Business Owners

Small Business Owners: You May Be Eligible for up to $30,000 and Technical Assistance Training! Last year, the City of Raleigh and Carolina Small Business Fund launched the Oak City Biz Labs program. This program is designed to help small businesses with storefronts in Raleigh that are still financially recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic by providing aid of up to $30,000, tied to technical assistance programs that help foster strategic and resilient business growth. Applications for the second round will be open from February 27th until March 12th.  Applicants that were awarded funds for the first round of relief through the Oak City Biz Labs program are not eligible to apply. The applicants that received aid through the separate Raleigh Relief Fund created at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible to apply. Interested in applying?
