Following the previous email sent last week regarding the Neuse River Park Master Plan, please note the following important corrections to the timeline and meeting format: The August 27 Community Advisory Group (CAG) meeting will now be held virtually. The agenda and virtual meeting details are available on the engagement portal. The target date for the Parks, Recreation, and Greenway Advisory Board meetinghas been updated to November 21, 2024 (previously October 17). Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to ensure the success of this project. Neuse River Park Master Plan Update We wanted to provide you with a few important timeline updates regarding the Neuse River Park Master Plan. Raleigh Parks is targeting the October 17th meeting of the Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board Meeting for Master Plan approval. We will be holding an additional Community Advisory Group meeting to determine which park elements will be prioritized for the first phase of development and which may need to be included in future phases. Tim Beatley is the founder of the Network of Biophilic Cities. Raleigh is a member of the Network but apparently this status is not well understood or appreciated. Would you like to see more tree lined streets and plants that attract butterflies, bees and birds as well as more stormwater retention gardens? There are many innovative environmentally wise projects Raleigh could be implementing IF we citizens knew of them. Let’s learn what other cities are doing!
