    Our next District D Neighborhood Alliance meeting will be on Saturday, June 20 at 9:30 AM at the Thomas G. Crowder Woodland Center (5611 Jaguar Park Dr). Forrest Westall, Executive Director of the Upper Neuse River Basin Association (UNRBA), will join us remotely to discuss Raleigh’s drinking water supply - Falls Lake. The UNRBA convenes the municipalities and counties that touch Falls Lake, allowing us to manage this common resource for water supply and quality. Hope to see you there!

  • West Raleigh CAC Virtual Meeting

    Wednesday June 24th at 7pm It’s time to meet and talk about what’s going on in West Raleigh! Erika Brandt, Assistant Director of Housing will provide an overview of the City of Raleigh's affordable housing programs and the work of the Housing and Community Development Department. Then, Lauren North will present on the Hillsborough-Western rezoning Z-17-26.  The City has conducted preliminary test fits which indicate 89-124 units are feasible on the 3.5 acre site. We will also look at the proposed new boundary map that we will vote on at our July Meeting as well as open the floor for community updates.     Our second organizing meeting for restarting Raleigh’s Central CAC (Citizen Advisory Council) is on Saturday, July 18 at 2:00 PM in the John P. “Top” Greene African American Cultural Center (401 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.). We hope to create a new Central CAC board that reflects the diversity of our community. So please get involved and consider being nominated to a board position. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors! We want to have a list of nominations that we can vote on at our meeting in July. Please respond to Mike Motsinger (michael.motsinger@gmail.com) and Brian Rineer (brineer@bellsouth.net) and let them know about your interest in restarting the Central CAC. Also let them know if you would like to serve on the new Central CAC board and be nominated to a particular position (Chair, 1st and 2nd Vice Chair, Secretary, and Multimedia Coordinator).
