Hi CAC neighbors, Two weeks from tonight we’ll have our next Hillsborough-Wade CAC meeting on Tuesday, November 12th at 7:00 PMon Zoom. Normally we meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month, but we’re changing dates to accommodate when we could have several presentations. • Police update from Officer Kevin Tyler (“party house” on Tower Street and Peace Street Hookah Lounge updates). • Report from the Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation (Virtual Town Hall that will be on Wed Nov 20th at noon). • Raleigh’s planning department will present about creating a new comprehensive plan for the City of Raleigh. Here’s a description from City staff: “Reflecting Raleigh: the next comprehensive plan will be a multi-year, citywide effort. Our goal is to create a plan that truly reflects the history, assets, and perspectives of all Raleigh residents.” • The General Manager of the Village District shopping center will give a presentation on the proposed “social district” they would like for part of the shopping center. Friends and neighbors: SW Community Holiday Meeting at the Carolina Pines Community Center (2305 Lake Wheeler Rd.) We will meet in person, without streaming, next Monday evening, December 9th, at 7:00 pm. There will be reports from Raleigh Police Officers and City Inspections followed by social time. We also plan to have an update about Carolina Pines Park's facilities additions. I have been told that we can also use the Center's freezer. Therefore, I will, as previously promised, donate some ice cream. Please come and help with the ice cream. Holiday cookies and delights will also be very welcome. Since I have no idea as to how many will attend I don't need to be left with melting cartons and no freezer space. Please bring help. Kids welcome. This meeting is intended to be focused on sharing interests, and concerns and just acquainting ourselves with our neighbors. Several of our City Councilors have indicated they plan to attend. Please join this gathering if you can. Hopefully, we will have a good turnout. I plan to schedule in-person meetings four times a year. Mordecai CAC the key to strong community Hey neighbors! Join us on Tuesday 12/10 at Pelagic Beer and Wine at the MCAC Holiday Social. Amanda and Matt from Pelagic are hosting and will have the firepit set up outside and some tasty beverages for us. Stop by to visit and have a drink, and chat with your neighbors. We are looking for more community members to step up and get involved with our organization. This casual Holiday Social is a great place to meet people who have been volunteering with the CAC and learn more about it. We'll have a short announcement time around 8pm. If you’d like to see the Mordecai Community Action Coalition continue please consider getting involved. Email chair@mordecaicac.org.

Holiday Social Tuesday December 10th at 6pm As we approach the end of a busy year we hope you can join us for an in person gathering of the West Raleigh CAC and take some time to connect with each other. We won’t have any business items to discuss but we will have refreshments! Please bring your favorite holiday treat to share with the group and if we have enough we will share with our first responders at Raleigh PD and local firefighters at Station 8.
