Hi CAC neighbors, Our Hillsborough-Wade CAC meeting will be a week from today on Tuesday, April 23rd at 7:00 PM. We’ll be meeting at the Jaycee Park facility along Wade Avenue. We have some updates for our agenda. Current Agenda: • Police report (waiting to hear back). • Presentation on Biophilia and Raleigh’s membership in the international network of Biophilic Cities. (1) • Kate Dixon (now on the Raleigh Parks Board) will talk about volunteer efforts to remove invasive plant species from our City parks. (2) • Possible update on rezoning case Z-83-22 (property includes where the Arby’s was on Hillsborough Street)? (1) One of our very active CAC members and super volunteer, Marsha Presnell-Jennette, thought it would be good for us to hear from Brian Smith (our Natural Resources Superintendent) about the Biophilic Cities Network and Raleigh’s efforts to improve our environment and connections to it. Read more about Biophilic design and concepts. (2) Kate Dixon and a group of other volunteers have been holding a weekly workday to remove invasive plants like English ivy and privet from Windemere Beaver Dam Park, just north of Wade Avenue. Meeting on Wednesday April 24th at 7pm It’s time to meet and talk about what’s going in in West Raleigh! We will discuss several items of interest to our members. There is a new subdivision (Chapman Cottages) being planned on Powell Drive near the park with 15 new homes and we will hear a presentation from the developer of this project.
