Meeting on December 4th at 6pm We are so excited for the holidays and pleased to announce that we will meet in person for a combined November/December meeting of the West Raleigh CAC. Where: Powell Park Neighborhood Center When: Monday December 4 at 6:00pm Who: Everyone who lives in West Raleigh! Why: To celebrate the work we have accomplished this past year Refreshments and snacks will be on hand and we will send out a sign up sheet ahead of time in a separate email.

Join us Monday night, December 11th at 7PM for our regularly scheduled Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement Meeting we will be meeting on Zoom. Greetings to Friends and Neighbors City of Raleigh Inspections Report - Inspector Doug Lilly. City of Raleigh Monthly Report and Update – Captain Karlinski (SW-Southwest). Captain LaTour (SE-Southeast), Captain Van Antwerp (DT-Downtown). Our SW area is now part of three Raleigh Police Districts. Our December meeting Continues the Quarterly Open Forum Format - Please feel free to use this time to bring your comments, concerns, and subjects of interest to the group. We want to hear from you and learn more about what you believe should be taking place in our neighborhood. Changes in Community Group Meetings - Comments and updates from our community leaders and residents. We plan to broadcast the meeting on Facebook if you would prefer to watch it and not participate. Our next meeting is scheduled for January 8th, 2024. Hopefully, we will have some encouraging information about returning to our traditional home at Carolina Pines Community Center in the new year. Hi Hillsborough-Wade CAC neighbors, Our board has decided to cancel the December Hillsborough-Wade CAC meeting at the Powell Drive Park facility. Instead some of us board members are going to meet for dinner at The Players Retreat on Tuesday, December 12th at 7:00 PM. If you would like to join us, please let me know (contact info below) so we can determine how big a table we may need. It’s a long story about setting the meeting agenda and coordinating people’s schedules. Our CAC board discussed various options, from our typical agenda about city-related topics to just a social event. We decided to move one of our main agenda items to our January meeting. Concerns were expressed that if we didn’t have an interesting agenda, we weren’t going to have a decent turnout during this busy time of year. By having dinner at the PR we won’t have to work on the logistics of providing food and drinks, plus setting up and cleaning up at Powell Drive. December 12 - MCAC Holiday Social at Pelagic Beer & Wine, 7:30pm

Mark your calendars! We are planning to have a December meeting on Monday evening, December 18, from 7 to 8:30 pm at Eastgate Community Center, however it will be a purely social event without on line participation. Come out and meet your neighbors, Councilors and other guests.

The North CAC will meet at Abbotts Creek Community Center We will have updates from RPD, Abbotts Creek, and Parks Staff. See you there!

It's going to be a great meeting with guest speakers from the City of Raleigh to discuss projects around Five Points and City Council Member Christina Jones. Then we'll be discussing the Smoky Hollow Park (formerly Devereux Meadow) project at West Street between Peace Street and Wade Ave, the Northern Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project that will pass near the Five Points area along Captial Blvd, the approved rezoning at the intersection of Bickett Blvd and Fairview Road, and the Five Points Streetscape and Safety Study. And City Council Member Christina Jones will be with us to share news about City Council recent decisions and deliberations and issues before them. Our meetings are open to the public!
