    The City of Raleigh's Solid Waste Services team will be hosting popups to hand out FREE biodegradable yard waste bags this fall. Swing by Worthdale Park Community Center to pick up your five (5) FREE biodegradable paper yard waste bags! Solid Waste Services staff will be on hand to answer all your questions about the city's new service for residents, Enhanced Weekly Yard Waste Pickup.

  • Celebrating Art & Transportation On Atlantic Avenue

    Celebrate Atlantic Avenue The City is excited to celebrate the Atlantic Avenue Improvement Project with a ribbon-cutting event! The project enhanced Atlantic Avenue between New Hope Church Road and Highwoods Boulevard with new sidewalks, a multi-use path, a median with turn lanes, and a new traffic signal at Bramer Drive. These improvements make it easier and safer for people to travel along the corridor. See what's new along Atlantic Avenue! Public Art Along the Corridor The project also includes public art by Durham artist David Wilson. The artwork adds a creative element to the corridor and incorporates poems by Johnny Lee Chapman, III. Learn more about the public art on Atlantic Avenue!

  • East Lane Street Public Meeting

    We are finding a long-term solution for the neighborhood near East Lane Street that would reduce flooding and improve stormwater conditions. We previously repaired and realigned a private stormwater pipe that caused a sink hole on East Lane Street. This work is a temporary solution to restore the stormwater system and make the properties in the area safe. Project Details Type: Stormwater Budget: $11 million Project Lead: Stormwater Management Contractors: Ardurra (Design); Moffat Pipe (Contractor for temporary repair)
