Slavery to Freedom: 35th US Colored Infantry Regiment Encampment The mission of the 35th USCT reenactors based out of Tryon Palace in New Bern, NC, is to educate people on the larger role that African Americans played during the Civil War. Travel back in time to see the 35th USCT as they tell stories of real-life Black soldiers and their lives in the camp and the front lines. Ages: AllCost: Free
