Its decisions are final but may be subject to court action. The Board consists of eight members: four regular members and two alternate members are appointed to two-year terms by the City Council and must reside within the City limits; one regular member and one alternate are appointed by Wake County Commissioners and must reside within the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction. Wake BRT: Western Station Area Plan Virtual Meeting

Wake BRT: Western Station Area Plan Virtual Meeting Date & Time Dec 11, 2023 06:30 PM  in Description Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Bus Rapid Transit is coming to Wake County! The western corridor will connect downtown Raleigh to downtown Cary. This will mean more frequent service and faster bus transit connections. Station Area Planning New Bus Rapid Transit will attract new residents, businesses, and investment to areas around new stations. The Station Area Plan will ensure that these changes benefit existing residents and businesses, as well as visitors. Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement Meeting

Join us Monday night, December 11th at 7PM for our regularly scheduled Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement Meeting we will be meeting on Zoom. Our December meeting Continues the Quarterly Open Forum Format - Please feel free to use this time to bring your comments, concerns, and subjects of interest to the group. We want to hear from you and learn more about what you believe should be taking place in our neighborhood. Changes in Community Group Meetings - Comments and updates from our community leaders and residents. We plan to broadcast the meeting on Facebook if you would prefer to watch it and not participate. Our next meeting is scheduled for January 8th, 2024. Hopefully, we will have some encouraging information about returning to our traditional home at Carolina Pines Community Center in the new year. Valley Drive Sidewalk Project Public Meeting

Optimist Park Community Center 5900 Whittier Drive, Raleigh

The City plans to install a sidewalk on east side of Valley Drive from the existing sidewalk beyond Hatherleigh Court to Lynn Road. We are having a drop-in style meeting on December 12, from 5:30-7 p.m., at the Optimist Community Center. The meeting is a great opportunity for residents to see the plans and ask questions about the project. City staff will be on hand to talk with residents about the project, but no formal presentation will be made.
