  • NCMA Movie Night: Shrek

    Moore Square 200 S. Blount St., Raleigh, NC

    Moore Square, in partnership with the North Carolina Museum of Art, brings free outdoor movies to downtown Raleigh this spring and summer. Join us monthly for themed activities and programming, including food trucks beginning at 6 p.m., followed by an evening film under the stars at 7:15 pm.   • Movie Series at Pullen Park

    Pullen Park Amusements 520 Ashe Ave., Raleigh, NC

    Join us for movie nights this summer at Pullen Park! Families, friends, and film lovers of all ages are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs for a season of outdoor cinema on the event lawn. Screenings will take place on the first Tuesday of every month, kicking off in June and concluding in October. All screenings are free and open to the public. Refreshments and popcorn will be available for purchase at the Pullen Café.     Queering Our 250th Megan L. Cherry is an associate professor at North Carolina State University who specializes in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century North American history. This lecture will take a look at several lesser-known Americans from the Revolutionary era to show that sexuality and gender were being contested at the same time as our war for independence.
