We are hosting a public meeting to share information about the East Lane Drainage Improvements project. We are planning stormwater improvements on East Lane Street and would like your feedback on design and construction for this drainage project. When: Tuesday, April 14, 5-6:30 p.m. Where: Tarboro Road Community Center (121 North Tarboro Street) Background We are finding a long-term solution for the neighborhood near East Lane Street that would reduce flooding and improve stormwater conditions. We will install new stormwater pipes and drains in the city right-of-way on East Lane Street and towards Linden Avenue to improve drainage.
Meeting Details We are hosting a public meeting to share updates on the Marsh Creek Watershed Study. In this meeting, we will share our results and recommended stormwater improvement projects that will reduce flooding, improve water quality, and protect the community. Parks staff will also provide information about the Marsh Creek Greenway project. What's a Watershed? A watershed is an area of land where rainwater collects and flows or drains to a larger body of water. That can be a lake, stream, river, or ocean. The Marsh Creek Watershed is located Northeast Raleigh. The goal is to identify ways to improve the watershed by: Reducing flooding impacts Renewing stormwater pipes and infrastructure that is in poor condition Improving water quality Repairing streambanks
The committee is responsible for the study of issues related to park facilities, features, developments, and modifications. The committee prepares recommendations and proposals for the Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board based on in-depth review and study of park-related issues and concerns. The Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board (PRGAB) will meet in-person in the Raleigh Council Chambers, 222 W. Hargett Street at 6:00 p.m. The Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Greenway Advisory Board meetings are open to the public. This meeting will be streamed for public viewing - watch meeting. The PRGAB meets on the third Thursday of each month.
