Open Houses and Public Hearings

Come out to Moore Square on Friday, April 26 as we honor the spirit of childhood and celebrate the children in our city during our Children's Day Event! There will be food, inflatables, crafts, games, and live performances from Raleigh Little Theater and the Raleigh Music Collective Children's Strings Class.  Bring a chair or blanket and stay for a family movie in the square- Space Jam! We believe that health is wealth here at John Chavis Memorial Park and to demonstrate that Raleigh Parks is partnering with the Raleigh Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to hold a health and wellness day. This free, family-friendly event will feature mental health exhibits, physical fitness classes, wellness information, food trucks with free $15 food vouchers while supplies last, and more! Children's activities will include inflatables, relay races, and other friendly competitions with prizes including Raleigh Parks gift cards! The committee is responsible for the study of issues related to park facilities, features, developments, and modifications. The committee prepares recommendations and proposals for the Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board based on in-depth review and study of park-related issues and concerns. The Parks Committee a standing committee of the Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board will meet in the Raleigh Municipal Building, 222 W. Hargett Street, Conference Room 303 at 6:00 pm.
