Join the Historic Raleigh Trolley for this special edition of our popular Black history tour highlighting Oberlin Village. Tours will begin at Mordecai Historic Park and travel to Oberlin, where passengers will disembark for a tour of the Historic Turner House and Oberlin Cemetery and learn about the neighborhood’s history of community and freedom. Tours will take place on Sunday, May 5 at 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. and last an hour. Registration is $12 and can be purchased online using RecLink. Five Points CAC Virtual Meeting

Mordecai CAC

Join us on May 14 at the Person Street Bar Please join the Person Street Partnership (PSP) and the Mordecai CAC on Tuesday May 14, 2024 at the Person Street Bar 5:30 to 7pm for a joint celebration of the success of the PSP which started with its first meeting at the Urban Design Center in March of 2011. The partnership was founded by Philip Bernard, former Mordecai CAC co-chair and current Mordecai Traffic chair as a way to revitalize the North Person Street business district by making changes to Blount and Person Streets in order to calm traffic in the district. The PSP advocated for the funding of the Blount/Person Street and Wake Forest corridor study which subsequently resulted in funding for Phase One of the corridor project, the “road diet” which was completed in 2021. Since its inception, the PSP has organized quarterly meetings and “visioning presentations” with NC State’s graduate school of Architecture and Design, business and property owners, the surrounding neighborhoods including Mordecai and Oakwood, William Peace University, Raleigh City Council and Staff, and anyone who wished to see North Person Street flourish as a neighborhood business district.
