Good morning, "Informed + Engaged=Empowered SECAC July 2024 Community meeting When: Thursday, July 11, 2024. Where: Barwell Road Community Center 5857 Barwell Park Drive. Raleigh, NC 27610 Time: 7:00 pm This meeting may be recorded to allow sharing with Southeast Raleigh residents. The Citizen Advisory Councils (CACs) were established to promote citizen participation in city government, disseminate information to communities and solicit views on matters affecting the wellbeing of the citizens. See attached map for area covered within the SECAC. We need residents of the Southeast Raleigh area to step up. If you would like to give back to the community and be a part of what impacts, you and your community. We will be electing SECAC officers at our July 11,2024 for the following: Positions for Two Chairs, Two Vice Chairs, Recording Secretary, Multimedia Coordinator. The City of Raleigh will host an event for community members to come learn about the future of Red Hat Amphitheater, Raleigh Convention Center, and South Street. The cookout will feature bounce houses, live music, and snow cones. Staff from Performing Arts, Transportation, Planning, and Parks departments will be on hand to explain what's planned and answer questions. It's free and open to the public. Date: July 20 Time: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Location: The City will close a portion of the 200 block of W. South Street from the railroad bridge to McDowell St (no access from Dawson to McDowell).

Phase II of the LGBTQIA+ Historic Context Study Help us unlock the history and discover past and present locations that are important to the LGBTQIA+ community in Raleigh. The Phase II kickoff community meeting will be held in person on Tuesday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Halifax Community Center (1023 Halifax St). Join the City's Historic Preservation staff to meet the new project consultant, receive project updates, and share stories of where LGBTQIA+ people gathered, met, celebrated, loved, and lived. West Raleigh CAC Summer Social Wednesday July 24th from 6pm - 8pm We are inviting you to join the West Raleigh CAC for our annual Summer Social on Wednesday July 24th starting at 6pm.
