Oakwood will host a community meeting on Thursday, May 18th beginning at 7 PM at Open Table Church (where we vote). Our District C Councilman (and Mayor pro Tem), Corey Branch, will be there to answer questions and receive feedback regarding the upcoming decision on proposed zoning changes. Also, participating will be Ira Mable from the City Planning Department, who is one of the architects of the proposed changes. This will be in a panel discussion format where you can make a statement or you can ask a question. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. It appears the City may have this decision before them by their June 25th meeting. They need to hear from their constituents in neighborhoods like ours that will be impacted, so please consider attending and letting them know your thoughts. We also have a Board meeting on Thursday, May 11th. I hope to see you at both meetings. Dee Penven-Crew President, SPHO
Our next meeting is scheduled for May 20th at 9:30 AM at the Thomas G. Crowder Woodland Center and our District D City Councilor Jane Harrison plans to be in attendance. We will have no guest speaker this month and instead will have an in-person-only work session. We will bring the Zoom meeting option back at our next meeting. Look forward to seeing you! If you are unable to attend our next meeting is tentatively planned for June 17th at 9:30 AM.
Mayor Pro Tem Branch will be holding a District C meeting on May 20 at 10am at 1214 E. Lenoir Street
