We will hear a presentation from Dave Klemp who runs a non-profit dedicated to preserving and planting native trees. It's called Trees for the Triangle and they have made some impressive gains in the tree canopy in Raleigh, having planted over 5,000 trees in the past 8 years. Their mission statement is clear: At Trees for the Triangle, our mission is to improve the social and ecological resilience of the Triangle area through the planting of native trees. We believe that trees are vital to the well-being of our communities and the environment. Trees are not just aesthetic additions to our landscapes; they are powerful agents of positive change that can directly improve the lives of everyone in North Carolina. We hope you can join us on Wednesday evening via zoom to learn more. We will also discuss the upcoming Candidate Forum that is being jointly held in October by West Raleigh CAC, the Hillsborough-Wade CAC and SW Raleigh Engagement. Raleigh City Council Candidate Forum At-Large and District D October 20th – 7:00pm Virtual Forum Hosted by West Raleigh CAC, Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement and Hillsborough-Wade CAC are holding a joint candidate forum for Raleigh At-Large and District D Candidates on October 20th at 7:00 pm via Zoom. We will follow the traditional format of opening statements followed by questions from our moderators who will focus on topics of interest to our vibrant Raleigh neighborhoods.
