We want to hear from you, Raleigh, about your experience building new friendships in the city. Participants will receive a $25 gift card. Join us at A Place at the Table for a one-hour activity with the City of Raleigh staff. Raleigh City employees are coming together from across departments to learn and practice public innovation to solve real challenges facing the city. The focus of this project is about building community cohesion. We want to hear from you, Raleigh residents, about your experience building new friendships through the activities in your community. How does it work? Arrive at 9 a.m. and get paired up with a Raleigh employee. They will ask you questions about your experience meeting new people. There is nothing you need to prepare, just an openness to share your experiences. As a thank you for your time, we will provide you with a $25 gift card. Who can attend? Our focus is learning how people create a sense of belonging and connection within Raleigh. We’d like to talk to anyone who will share their stories about how they are expanding their social circle. I have a few updates for you since our last meeting in January. First, early voting has begun for the upcoming primary. As many of you know, the only Council seats that will be on the ballot will be the At-Large and District C candidates since there are more than two people running for each seat. With that in mind, I think it is important to know the candidates so that you can make an informed choice when voting. Our February meeting will focus on the At-Large Candidates with an in-person discussion with all six candidates that are running for that position. This will be an excellent opportunity for a community discussion on City and local priorities, centering on affordability, transportation, and density. The agenda is appended for your convenience. Please do not miss this opportunity to have an open discussion with the candidates. Try to attend in person, although the meeting will follow our hybrid model of both in-person and virtual participation using Zoom. The Zoom link for the meeting is as follows: Join our Cloud HD Video Meeting us02web.zoom.us I am also providing another reminder about the feedback request for the planned Green Street Phase 1 treatment of Quail Hollow Drive, starting with the cycle track application on […]
