Residents, Due to the uncertainty of the weather this weekend, I have changed our meeting format to virtual only. The Park facilities are closed this weekend, and the next update will be provided on Sunday. Since there is the possibility of a power outage, I am taking the initiative of changing the format in advance of Monday’s event. If there is a power outage impacting our area on Monday, we will cancel the meeting for this month. The primary role of CACs is to provide a vital link between residents and local government since 1974.Raleigh City Council voted to restore the partnership in February 2024. The First Community meeting to restart the South CAC will include an overview of the process to reactivate a CAC and get nominations for officers. (Chair, 1st, and 2nd Vice Chair. We have a rezoning proposal to increase density near Gorman and Avent Ferry that we will hear about from the developer. Raleigh Police will talk about home safety in the hopes of preventing further tragedies like the one that happened to Zoe Welsh earlier this month.
