The western corridor will connect downtown Raleigh to downtown Cary. This will mean more frequent service and faster bus transit connections. Station Area Planning New Bus Rapid Transit will attract new residents, businesses, and investment to areas around new stations. The Station Area Plan will ensure that these changes benefit existing residents and businesses, as well as visitors. Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement Meeting

Join us Monday night, December 11th at 7PM for our regularly scheduled Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement Meeting we will be meeting on Zoom. Our December meeting Continues the Quarterly Open Forum Format - Please feel free to use this time to bring your comments, concerns, and subjects of interest to the group. We want to hear from you and learn more about what you believe should be taking place in our neighborhood. Changes in Community Group Meetings - Comments and updates from our community leaders and residents. We plan to broadcast the meeting on Facebook if you would prefer to watch it and not participate. Our next meeting is scheduled for January 8th, 2024. Hopefully, we will have some encouraging information about returning to our traditional home at Carolina Pines Community Center in the new year. Valley Drive Sidewalk Project Public Meeting

The City plans to install a sidewalk on east side of Valley Drive from the existing sidewalk beyond Hatherleigh Court to Lynn Road. We are having a drop-in style meeting on December 12, from 5:30-7 p.m., at the Optimist Community Center. The meeting is a great opportunity for residents to see the plans and ask questions about the project. City staff will be on hand to talk with residents about the project, but no formal presentation will be made.

Alternative Response Program Listening Session

As a part of our ongoing efforts to expand our first-response efforts, the City of Raleigh and its partners are working to develop an alternative response program, outside of the Raleigh Police Department, to further address our community’s need for crisis prevention and management. Hillsborough-Wade CAC Dinner

Hi Hillsborough-Wade CAC neighbors, Our board has decided to cancel the December Hillsborough-Wade CAC meeting at the Powell Drive Park facility. Instead some of us board members are going to meet for dinner at The Players Retreat on Tuesday, December 12th at 7:00 PM. If you would like to join us, please let me know (contact info below) so we can determine how big a table we may need. It’s a long story about setting the meeting agenda and coordinating people’s schedules. Our CAC board discussed various options, from our typical agenda about city-related topics to just a social event. We decided to move one of our main agenda items to our January meeting. Concerns were expressed that if we didn’t have an interesting agenda, we weren’t going to have a decent turnout during this busy time of year. By having dinner at the PR we won’t have to work on the logistics of providing food and drinks, plus setting up and cleaning up at Powell Drive.
