Oberlin Road Streetscape Project Pre-Construction Meeting

We are making improvements to Oberlin Road from Groveland Avenue to just north of Roberts Street, with wider sidewalks, revised traffic lanes, bus stops, public art, and landscaping. Construction is scheduled to start early this fall. We are having a public Pre-Construction meeting to give residents and businesses the opportunity to: Meet the construction team; Learn what to expect during construction; View the traffic control plans; and, Ask construction related questions. Joint Raleigh/Wake Homelessness Task Force

The purpose of the Task Force is to bring together a diverse group of community stakeholders to carry out a number of tasks including, but not limited to the following: Understanding and assessing the current elements of the homeless service system in Wake County Identifying and prioritizing emerging issues related to homelessness in our community (e.g., homeless encampments and enforcement) Making recommendations to local government units and homeless service providers to improve the homeless service system Providing the community with information about available resources that exist within the homeless service system The work of the Task Force is intended to be time-limited in nature with the engagement anticipated to be six to nine months in duration.  Meetings of the Task Force will occur once per month from 10am to 12noon and preliminary meeting dates, times and locations have been identified and are listed below. The City hosts the Raleigh Neighborhood Exchange (RNEX) each year in honor of Neighborhoods Month. The event celebrates Raleigh's amazing neighborhoods and brings our neighbors together. This year's theme is "Cultivating Community Culture" and we are excited to discover the communal gifts and strengths that exist in our neighborhoods! The community event will be held at Carolina Pines Community Center on Friday, September 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Stop by to join the free event - no registration required. Join us to enjoy some of the following activities: Learn About City Programs: Meet staff from City of Raleigh departments and learn about capacity-building and neighborhood programming.
