East CAC Meeting

Hi Neighbors! We’ve got an exciting CAC meeting coming up next Monday the 13th at 7pm. We’ll have a city planner discussing the newest comprehensive plan. The Comp Plan impacts everyone in our city and addresses a range of issues- Housing Choice/Affordability Stormwater Management Traffic/Transportation Trees/Urban Forestry Infrastructure/Services Neighborhoods It’s a long range policy document that establishes a vision for the city and provides guidance for growth and development. In short, it’s SUPER IMPORTANT! As you can probably tell I’m pumped about this meeting, and I’d love to see you all there! As usual we’ll be meeting in the Lions Park Community Center at 7pm on Monday, January 13. Five Points Streetscape and Safety Study (Virtual)

The Raleigh Department of Transportation invites you to attend the third and final touchpoint meeting of the Five Points Streetscape and Safety Study. This meeting will be held via Zoom on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 7 p.m., and it’s your opportunity to learn about the latest updates on the project, ask questions, and provide feedback. What’s on the Agenda? During the meeting, RDOT staff, with consultant support, will provide an informative presentation covering: Project Overview: A recap of the study's goals and objectives. Recommended Near-Term Improvements: Building on the signal modifications implemented in September 2023, staff will discuss the next steps for improving safety and functionality in the area. Transit Rider Focus Group for Wake Transit Plan Update In 2016, Wake County voters approved a half-cent sales tax referendum dedicated to expanding and strengthening transit services in Wake County. The Wake Transit Plan (WTP) is the county-wide transit investment program that decides how those funds will be spent on services and projects to shape the future of transit service across Wake County. Every four years, the Wake Transit Plan is updated to revisit and confirm the region’s ten-year transit investment strategy. This plan will decide how to invest nearly $1 billion over the next 10 years to make it easier for people in Wake County to use public transportation. Wake Transit staff is currently sharing ideas for how to improve transit access across the region.
