If your business is not certified, please join the City of Raleigh's MWBE Program, NC DOA/HUB Office, and the NC DOT/DBE Office to learn the requirements and process to apply for certification. Benefits of Certification as HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) & DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise): Increased exposure to business and procurement opportunities Addition of your business to the online directory Receive bid notices from all government organizations Provides opportunities for business development And, more… Who should apply? The business must be 51% or more owned and controlled by the following minority groups: Black Americans Hispanic Americans Pacific Asian Americans American Indians Females Disabled - A person with disability as defined in G.S. 168-1 or G.S. 168A-3 Disadvantaged - A person who is socially and economically disadvantaged as defined in 15 U.S.C. § 637

Raleigh City Council is considering changes to the municipal election process and is seeking community feedback. An information workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 1 at Chavis Community Center from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Workshop participants will be asked a series of questions to help inform Council’s decision-making. Join a panel of experts and teens in this special youth edition of Ask the Doc Town Hall. Together with Wake County’s Youth Health Council, we'll explore the pressing issues of mental health, COVID-19, and vaping, offering insights and essential resources. Join the Historic Raleigh Trolley for this special edition of our popular Black history tour highlighting Oberlin Village. Tours will begin at Mordecai Historic Park and travel to Oberlin, where passengers will disembark for a tour of the Historic Turner House and Oberlin Cemetery and learn about the neighborhood’s history of community and freedom. Tours will take place on Sunday, May 5 at 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. and last an hour. Registration is $12 and can be purchased online using RecLink.
