FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Local climate advocates host climate anxiety event ahead of Earth Day Together with Eco+Pack@NCSU and the Raleigh Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, Toward Zero Waste is hosting a free workshop entitled Keep Your Cool In A Warming World: Facing Your Fear About Climate Change. Where: North Carolina State University’s Talley Student Union, Room #4280, located at 2610 Cates Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27606. DDNA Meeting

Our next meeting is scheduled for April 20th at 9:30 AM at the Thomas G. Crowder Woodland Center with District D City Councilor Jane Harrison. We will discuss the downtown municipal service district (MSD). The Downtown Raleigh Alliance will explain its role in providing safety, cleaning, and business development services via the MSD. Raleigh City Council is considering expanding the downtown MSD borders to better cover areas like Glenwood South. This meeting will be in-person only and we plan to have Zoom access back at the next meeting. Hope to see you there!

This year's celebratory event will be held on April 20, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. on the beautiful grounds of Raleigh's newest park - Latta University Historic Park.   Enjoy the evening visiting a mobile library of education tables featuring:  Oberlin Pioneers in Medicine hosted by WakeMed, radar scans of Oberlin Cemetery conducted by former NCSU doctoral student John Wall, Oberlin Veterans from various military campaigns, and other education displays. Dance the night away or relax on a blanket on the grassy knolls listening to the live performance of EPIC, whose playlist will include jazz and gospel. Stroll through the park and read the interpretive signage honoring Latta University. Learn about the landmark structures along Oberlin Road by partaking in a free Historic Trolley Tour of Oberlin offered throughout the evening by FOV volunteers.
