Join us Monday night, September 11th at 7PM for our regularly scheduled Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement Meeting we will be meeting on Zoom. Our community is now part of three Raleigh Police Districts. Our September meeting will follow our established Open Discussion format - Community comments and discussion are welcome. Tell us all what you believe we need to know. How about the numerous development cases that we are seeing? How about streets, traffic, and the horrible litter is thrown on the side of our streets? Changes in Community Group Meetings - Comments and updates our community leaders and residents. We plan to broadcast the meeting on Facebook if you would prefer to watch it and not participate. Oberlin Road Streetscape Project Pre-Construction Meeting

We are making improvements to Oberlin Road from Groveland Avenue to just north of Roberts Street, with wider sidewalks, revised traffic lanes, bus stops, public art, and landscaping. Construction is scheduled to start early this fall. We are having a public Pre-Construction meeting to give residents and businesses the opportunity to: Meet the construction team; Learn what to expect during construction; View the traffic control plans; and, Ask construction related questions. The purpose of the Task Force is to bring together a diverse group of community stakeholders to carry out a number of tasks including, but not limited to the following: Understanding and assessing the current elements of the homeless service system in Wake County Identifying and prioritizing emerging issues related to homelessness in our community (e.g., homeless encampments and enforcement) Making recommendations to local government units and homeless service providers to improve the homeless service system Providing the community with information about available resources that exist within the homeless service system The work of the Task Force is intended to be time-limited in nature with the engagement anticipated to be six to nine months in duration.  Meetings of the Task Force will occur once per month from 10am to 12noon and preliminary meeting dates, times and locations have been identified and are listed below.
