10th Annual Celebrate Oberlin Event

Be Our Guest! Join us for an exciting evening meeting new friends or reuniting with neighbors at FOV's 10th Annual Celebrate Oberlin event. This year's celebratory event will be held on April 20, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. on the beautiful grounds of Raleigh's newest park - Latta University Historic Park.   Enjoy the evening visiting a mobile library of education tables featuring:  Oberlin Pioneers in Medicine hosted by WakeMed, radar scans of Oberlin Cemetery conducted by former NCSU doctoral student John Wall, Oberlin Veterans from various military campaigns, and other education displays. Dance the night away or relax on a blanket on the grassy knolls listening to the live performance of EPIC, whose playlist will include jazz and gospel. Stroll through the park and read the interpretive signage honoring Latta University. Learn about the landmark structures along Oberlin Road by partaking in a free Historic Trolley Tour of Oberlin offered throughout the evening by FOV volunteers. Satiate your appetite with offerings by two gourmet food trucks:  Oak City Fish & Chips and Sweet's Turkey BBQ. Our Hillsborough-Wade CAC meeting will be this coming Tuesday, April 23rd at 7:00 PM. We’ll be meeting at the Jaycee Park facility along Wade Avenue.
