More Homes, More Choices: Information Session – District A

Sertoma Arts Center 1400 Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC, United States

Beginning in January 2023, the City will be hosting a series of events related to zoning changes, housing affordability, and sustainable growth. All events are open to the public, though some may require advance registration. During these information sessions, participants will view examples of missing middle housing in Raleigh, and staff will provide an overview of the zoning changes and discuss the process that got us here. There will also be time to ask questions and provide feedback in smaller groups. Meetings will be held in person across Raleigh and there will also be a virtual option. All are welcome to attend any meeting in any district. Parks and Recreation staff will be on-site to provide recreation based activities to youth, ages 5-12, during the information session. A completed drop-in registration form must be provided to Parks and Recreation staff at drop-off. To save time upon arrival, bring the completed form with you to the meeting. To find your district, visit the City Council webpage and scroll to "Find Your Council Member and District." Enter your home address to find your district.

Oak City Biz Labs Information Session for Small Business Owners

Small Business Owners: You May Be Eligible for up to $30,000 and Technical Assistance Training! Last year, the City of Raleigh and Carolina Small Business Fund launched the Oak City Biz Labs program. This program is designed to help small businesses with storefronts in Raleigh that are still financially recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic by providing aid of up to $30,000, tied to technical assistance programs that help foster strategic and resilient business growth. Applications for the second round will be open from February 27th until March 12th.  Applicants that were awarded funds for the first round of relief through the Oak City Biz Labs program are not eligible to apply. The applicants that received aid through the separate Raleigh Relief Fund created at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible to apply. Interested in applying? NC Counts Coalition Emergency Meeting on HB99

Hi Friends URGENT, URGENT URGENT!!! It has just come to our attention that HB99 has been filled. Filed by Representative Paré. HB99 — turns Wake County Board of Commissioners races into nonpartisan, single-member districts (currently it’s a partisan, residency/at-large system). We are hosting a special listening session next week to discuss the impact of the voting change and gather initial first impressions on HB99. Let’s Discuss Rezoning for the New Bern Avenue Transit Overlay District  Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations are planned along New Bern Avenue. Zoning changes are proposed to add the Transit Overlay District (TOD) to the zoning map along the future New Bern Avenue Bus Rapid Transit route. The TOD requires walkable development in core areas around transit routes and incentivizes the inclusion of affordable housing units in new buildings. During the meeting you can expect to learn about: What will happen during the rezoning process. Which properties are included in the proposed rezoning. What would actually happen to the properties once rezoned.

Sunset Clause Lawsuit

Sunset Clause Lawsuit Pre-trial Hearing February 27 We will share more details as we learn more. This Hearing will be at Wake County Superior Court about the Motions to Dismiss filed by Wake Stone and DEQ. We will argue that our case should go to a contested trial. Traffic Calming Measures Sidewalk improvements Place Making   Drop in any time! City staff will be on hand to explain some of the features we can install along the street and get your input on the ones you want to see the most. This is an informal drop-in- style event.
