  • Mordecai CAC Hybrid Meeting

    Christ the King Church 1426 Wake Forest Rd., Raleigh

    Community Meeting: Thursday, September 10 5:30-6:30pm Temple/Christ the King Church Fellowship Hall Please join the MCAC next Thursday at 5:30pm as we kick off our meeting year. This will be a hybrid meeting so you can join in person, on Zoom, or view on Facebook. Agenda: The agenda will be posted soon.   • Five Points CAC Virtual Meeting

        Zoom Meeting Link https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84830671022      Hi Five Points residents: Please join us for the Five Points CAC Zoom meeting on Monday, September 14, from 7 to 8 p.m. We will kick off the meeting with a police report on recent crime in the Five Points area. Then Dori Rathmell from the City of Raleigh Stormwater Department will discuss stormwater issues with us. Susan Murphy will join us to share the plans for Fall for Five Points on October 10th.   We will announce the nominees for Five Points CAC officers for the election in our November 9th meeting.   • Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement (SWRCE/SWCAC) in-person meeting

    Friends and Neighbors, The Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement (SWRCE/SWCAC) is meeting in person this month at Carolina Pines Community Center. We have invited folks from City of Raleigh Transportation Department to host a discussion on the upcoming Bus Rapid Transit in the area. Please bring your questions! In addition to our regular updates from Parks, Inspections, and Police. Meeting will start at 7:00PM - if you'd like to help with chairs please join us about 6:45PM. We are partnering with other CACs to hold a Joint CAC Candidate Forum before the November election.     September meeting: • Joint meeting with the Five Points CAC • Tuesday, September 29 at 7:00 PM • Main topic will be the bad side-effects of Glenwood South on the surrounding neighborhoods, and what the City plans to do about it. • City Councilors Jane Harrison and Christina Jones will join us along City staff (to be determined). It would be great if we could get the police chief. • Pullen Community Center (we’ve made a reservation and waiting to confirm)

    Raleigh City Council Candidate Forum  At-Large and District D October 20th – 7:00pm Virtual Forum Hosted by   West Raleigh CAC, Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement and Hillsborough-Wade CAC are holding a joint candidate forum for Raleigh At-Large and District D Candidates on October 20th at 7:00 pm via Zoom. We will follow the traditional format of opening statements followed by questions from our moderators who will focus on topics of interest to our vibrant Raleigh neighborhoods. Participants can submit questions via chat and there will be a time limit on answers. Our CAC’s encourage robust civic engagement and this will be an opportunity to hear from candidates who can offer their vision for Raleigh’s future and how they would tackle today’s issues.
