AGENDA • Police update by Officer Briana Powell. • Update from the Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation by Jeff Murison. • NC House Representative Cynthia Ball will discuss the proposed constitutional amendment to limit property taxes that will be on the ballot this fall. • District D City Councilor Jane Harrison will discuss the City of Raleigh’s budget for the next fiscal year. Wednesday June 24th at 7pm It’s time to meet and talk about what’s going on in West Raleigh! Erika Brandt, Assistant Director of Housing will provide an overview of the City of Raleigh's affordable housing programs and the work of the Housing and Community Development Department. Then, Lauren North will present on the Hillsborough-Western rezoning Z-17-26. The City has conducted preliminary test fits which indicate 89-124 units are feasible on the 3.5 acre site. We will also look at the proposed new boundary map that we will vote on at our July Meeting as well as open the floor for community updates. SECAC Community in person meeting scheduled for: Thursday July 9, 2026. Where: Barwell Road Community Center 5857 Barwell Park Drive. Raleigh, NC 27610 Time: 7:00 pm -8:30 pm Growth and development in the Southeast Raleigh area that will impact you. Come out and hear what Is being built in our aera and what plans are being made for Raleigh`s new strategic plan. Important agenda items. 1-Barwell Road Widening Project Update, 2-Raleigh Disability Depot Development at New Hope and Poole Road, 3-Comprehensive Plan 2030, Reflecting Raleigh Update. During Phase 3 of Reflecting Raleigh, the city will work to draft of the Next Comprehensive Plan based on the information we received in Phase 1 and Phase 2. 4- Overview Rezoning Case# Z-8-26 5525 & 5605 Rock Quarry Road Staff update. The request is to rezone approximately 42 acres from CX-3-CU to CX-4-CU. Essentially, we are asking for 1 additional story of building height. Please share with your community.

Our second organizing meeting for restarting Raleigh’s Central CAC (Citizen Advisory Council) is on Saturday, July 18 at 2:00 PM in the John P. “Top” Greene African American Cultural Center (401 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.). We hope to create a new Central CAC board that reflects the diversity of our community. So please get involved and consider being nominated to a board position. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors! We want to have a list of nominations that we can vote on at our meeting in July. Please respond to Mike Motsinger (michael.motsinger@gmail.com) and Brian Rineer (brineer@bellsouth.net) and let them know about your interest in restarting the Central CAC. Also let them know if you would like to serve on the new Central CAC board and be nominated to a particular position (Chair, 1st and 2nd Vice Chair, Secretary, and Multimedia Coordinator).
