Join us Monday night, September 11th at 7PM for our regularly scheduled Southwest Raleigh Community Engagement Meeting we will be meeting on Zoom. Our community is now part of three Raleigh Police Districts. Our September meeting will follow our established Open Discussion format - Community comments and discussion are welcome. Tell us all what you believe we need to know. How about the numerous development cases that we are seeing? How about streets, traffic, and the horrible litter is thrown on the side of our streets? Changes in Community Group Meetings - Comments and updates our community leaders and residents. We plan to broadcast the meeting on Facebook if you would prefer to watch it and not participate. Our next meeting is scheduled for October 9th. Current plans are to ask for information on how streets can be made safer. In addition to our monthly police activity report and Councilor updates, we have two City project news for the Midtown area scheduled for this month's meeting. The first is the latest information about the Big Branch Sewer Interceptor pipe replacement project. This has been presented previously but is about to be scheduled and initiated in the Fall of 2023. A sewer interceptor is a piece of a sewer network used to control the flow of rainwater, stormwater, and wastewater. The project extends from north of Millbrook Road to inside I-440 at Crabtree Creek. For more information, please see the following project page from the City web site: https://raleighnc.gov/projects/big-branch-sewer-interceptor-replacement The second update will include Project Updates on Greenways & Parks in the Midtown Area, including but not limited to the Hodges Street Greenway Bridge, Big Branch Greenway and other upcoming projects in the Midtown CAC area.
