West Raleigh CAC Summer Social Tuesday July 8th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm We are inviting you to join the West Raleigh CAC for our annual Summer Social on Tuesday July 8th starting at 5:30pm. This in person gathering is taking place at:   Powell Drive Neighborhood Center 740 Powell Drive Raleigh, NC 27606 Cookies and drinks will be provided and we are asking to please bring light snacks to share with those in attendance. We will discuss the recent rezoning that was withdrawn on Athen Drive, recognize the great work being done by the Wild West Gardening for Wildlife group and get a chance to share our love for West Raleigh. You will also be able to meet the new Community Officer for Southern Raleigh, Briana Powell, from RPD as well as Captain Jonathan Manson.  We expect other members of Raleigh Police and Fire as well as City staff and Council members  to attend. Look forward to seeing you in July!

Friends and neighbors,SW Community Meeting at the Carolina Pines Community Center (2305 Lake Wheeler Rd.). We will meet in person, without streaming, next Monday evening, September 8th, at 7:00 pm. There will be reports from Raleigh Police Officers and City Inspections. We plan to have a special update from Lisa Genschel with the Dix Park Conservancy about a program to join in supporting Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy. Jeff Murison of The Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation (Live it Up) will update us on programs for their included three mile long area and programs that focus on community success. We need your help!  -  I have been told that we can use the Center's freezer. Therefore, I will, as previously promised, donate ice cream. Please come and help with the ice cream. Since I have no idea as to how many will attend I don't need to be left with melting cartons and no freezer space. Please bring help. Kids welcome. This meeting is intended to be focused on sharing interests, and concerns and just acquainting ourselves with our neighbors. Please join this gathering if you can. Hi folks! Because Lions Park is closed for maintenance this month we will be meeting at Tap Yard Raleigh, which has graciously provided us meeting space. Thank you, Tap Yard! We will hear from our friends at the Raleigh Neighborhood College who will explain this wonderful, free program. The College helps train Raleigh residents on how the city works and how THEY can play a leadership role in their community. You don't want to miss this presentation! I am also hoping to get folks from Raleigh Water to discuss the new billing changes. We will also form a nomination committee to collect candidate names for our open role of East CAC Chair.
