The Police Advisory Board serves as a liaison between the Raleigh community and City Council. Please join us for a meeting of the Public Art and Design Board from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Public Art and Design Board meets in person at the John Chavis Memorial Park Community Center, or you may join the meeting virtually.
Our next meeting will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27 at Tarboro Road Community Center. In this meeting we'll hear from candidates for Raleigh city council's District D seat, incumbent Jane Harrison and challenger Jevon Smith. We'll also see a presentation on The Oakline, a proposed elevated pedestrian connector from downtown to Dix Park. This is a chance for us to have a look at the proposed project and give early feedback directly to designers and our District D city councilor. In October we'll also take a few minutes to discuss upcoming meeting topics, which will include a forum on public safety and presentations on housing, with emphasis on how we can help keep current residents in their homes. We'll additionally talk about establishment of committees to manage special CAC projects. Please come out and give your input on these issues. And bring a neighbor! We're still building momentum with this restarted CAC and need to get the word out. CHAOS CHOIR: DARK is a mischievous, immersive theater and musical performance marking our passage into the dark half of the year. Through a chorus of voices, masks, movement, ghost lore, myth, and the tales of Edgar Allan Poe, the Choir invites you to gather at the threshold between the known and unknown—and enter the dark together. About the Event The performance will take place at Fred Fletcher Park, beginning inside the historic Borden Building, before leading audiences through the park to the stone seat amphitheater. Admission is free, but registration is required.
