• Stream Monitoring Workshop

    Learn How to Take Water Samples! Interested in learning more about Raleigh stream ecosystems? We're hosting a volunteer stream monitoring workshop! We'll spend the first part of the workshop in the classroom and the second half in the creek practicing sample collection. This workshop is required for new stream monitoring volunteers but is open to anyone interested in learning more about our streams. When: Saturday, September 19 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Where: Walnut Creek Wetland Park (Neuse River Room, 950 Peterson Street) Details: Individual registration is required. This event is capped at 15 participants. Please come dressed in long pants, close-toed shoes, and ready to hop in the creek.

    The Committee of the Whole is an informal special meeting of the full Planning Commission, held to facilitate further discussions on specific referral items. The Planning Commission bylaws state that rezoning requests that are deemed inconsistent with the Comprehensive Plan and future land use map are automatically referred to the Committee of the Whole. Additionally, requests for Planned Development or Campus District are also automatically referred to this Committee. The committee typically meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. The meetings are held at the Raleigh Municipal Building (RMB), located at 222 West Hargett Street, in the Council Chamber or in conference room 305.
