Elections, Libraries staff partner on one of largest initiatives to date
Eva Perry Regional Library 2100 Shepherds Vineyard Drive, ApexElections, Libraries staff partner on one of largest initiatives to date The Wake County Board of Elections and Wake County Public Libraries are partnering to offer voter services at eight local libraries on Saturdays this summer. Events will take place from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. June 22 through Aug. 17, with the exception of July 6. Board of Elections staff will visit eight libraries over eight weekends to offer voter registration updates and upcoming election information. Visitors will also be able to get a photo voter ID, which is now required to be shown by registered voters who do not already have an acceptable ID. A full list of accepted voter IDs can be found at ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id. “We always strive to empower more people to vote in Wake County by making information and resources as accessible as possible,” said Olivia McCall, Board of Elections director. “This collaboration with the libraries is an excellent opportunity for us to provide accurate information and help residents better prepare for the upcoming elections.” The two organizations have worked together to offer voter registration at local libraries for years, but this is one of the largest initiatives ever planned. ADJOURNMENT The Raleigh Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body that acts on appeals for variances, special exceptions, and interpretations in the zoning regulations. Its decisions are final but may be subject to court action. The Board consists of eight members: four regular members and two alternate members are appointed to two-year terms by the City Council and must reside within the City limits; one regular member and one alternate are appointed by Wake County Commissioners and must reside within the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction.
