Historic Bike Ride with RHDC

Crank Arm Brewery 319 W Davie Street, Raleigh, NC

Hop on your bike for a ride into Raleigh's history. The Raleigh Historic Development Commission (RHDC), in partnership with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC), will be hosting a bike ride that will begin and end at Crank Arm Brewing. The 6-mile route includes stops at five Raleigh Historic Landmarks including: - Dr. M. T. Pope House- Lemuel and Julia Delany House- St. Agnes Hospital- Mary Elizabeth Hospital- Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Building RHDC volunteers at each site will share a brief history of the property. Riders are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets. Limited bike rentals will be available through the Bike Library at Crank Arm. A few free Cardinal Share e-bikes will also be available. Water and restrooms are not provided along the route. QR codes to a digital route map and group bike leads & sweeps will help ensure everyone bikes safely along the route. Register to attend.

Black History Trolley Tour

Join the Historic Raleigh Trolley for this special edition of our popular Black history tour highlighting Oberlin Village. Tours will begin at Mordecai Historic Park and travel to Oberlin, where passengers will disembark for a tour of the Historic Turner House and Oberlin Cemetery and learn about the neighborhood’s history of community and freedom.
