  • NCSU MEAS GSA Presents – The Cost of Growth

    NCSU Talley Student Union 2610 Cates Ave., Raleigh, NC

    NCSU Marine, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences Grad Student Assoc hosts a viewing of The Cost of Growth, a documentary that explores environmental struggles throughout Europe. The documentary creators have agreed to host a pre-screening at NC State, with proceeds going in part to the MEAS GSA! 🗓️ Thursday, Jan. 22 🕕 6 p.m. 📍 Talley Student Union Rm 3210 This event is open to everyone — bring your friends! The GSA will provide light snacks and drinks. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the link below. Proceeds will be split, with 45% going to the film’s non-profit creators for distribution, 45% to the MEAS GSA and 10% to Kinema for hosting.     Then & Now: A History of the Pullen Arts Community Nov. 1, 2025 - Jan. 25, 2026 Then & Now: A History of the Pullen Arts Community, is an exhibition that explores Pullen’s history and celebrates the art that’s created by members, instructors, and staff. The exhibition includes photos and artifacts from when Pullen first opened in 1961 until present day. The work from members, instructors, and staff spans across multiple mediums, including pottery, painting, photography, drawing, and printmaking. Learn more about the Exhibition at Pullen Arts Center.     Save the date Raleigh Citizen Advisory Council (RCAC) has received a request to restart the South CAC in Raleigh`s District C. The primary role of CACs is to provide a vital link between residents and local government since 1974.Raleigh City Council voted to restore the partnership in February 2024. The First Community meeting to restart the South CAC will include an overview of the process to reactivate a CAC and get nominations for officers. (Chair, 1st, and 2nd Vice Chair.     Hi CAC neighbors, The Hillsborough-Wade CAC will be hosting an At-Large City Council Candidate Forum two weeks from today, on Tuesday, January 27th at 7:00 PM on Zoom (link at the bottom of this email). Please put this event on your calendar! As you may know, Raleigh will have a non-partisan primary on March 3rd (early voting is February 12 to 28) and a general election on November 3rd. There will be only two primary races this year: At-Large and District C. Both of those races require a primary due to the number of candidates running.
